Bandsawing is a metal processing method that involves using a bandsaw machine equipped with a continuous-toothed metal blade to cut through various types of metal. Bandsawing offers advantages such as versatility in cutting different shapes and sizes of metal, high cutting accuracy, and the ability to make straight and curved cuts.
It is commonly utilized in fabrication, construction, and metalworking industries for cutting metal stock, pipes, and profiles.
Brooks Industrial Metals Ltd has bandsaw cutting equipment, including S-23 Series Bandsaw (2 SAWS), S-20 Series Bandsaw (1 SAW), and VW-18 SERIES 2. The saws in our facility in Brooks feature scissor style, swing head design and provide exceptional mitre cutting capability for light to medium applications. Features include 90-45 degree angle cuts, hydraulic scissor lift and vice. 20” wide and 16” high cutting capability at 90 degree.
The VW 18 Series 2 is a manual vertical bandsaw with the ability to mitre from 45 degrees left or right. Our model is able to cut at 90 degrees with a 3-degree tilt of the head. The cut capacity of 22” high and 18” wide at 90 degrees. Let our advanced cutting equipment handle your project!
The process begins by securing the metal workpiece to a worktable and feeding it into the rotating bandsaw blade. The blade moves continuously, creating a uniform and precise cut as it passes through the metal. The bandsaw blade’s continuous motion and the option for adjustable blade speed make it suitable for a wide range of metal materials and thicknesses.
